Thanks again to Tech4Learning for sponsoring, and to all applicants!

QR Code Mission

Your mission from the Board of Directors, should you choose to accept it, is to search far and wide across the hills of Hotel Roanoke. The objective: Find the QR Codes printed on yellow signs and table cards. A directive shall be given to you, which (should you accept it, and of course you will), you must complete and e-mail to vste-2011@posterous.com. Please ensure you sign off on these directives with your name, as this mission includes and prize that holds an entire library of books and rhymes with “Bindle”. The more assignments you take on, the more likely it is that you, my dear reader, shall receive that prize. Confused about what to do with a QR Code? No worries, head to http://www.vsteconference.org/qr-codes for more information. But act now without delay. Time is wasting.

Be a Good Network Neighbor

VSTE and the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center are working hard to provide a robust network for conference attendees. But we need your help. Here’s what you can do:
1. Connect one device at a time: While you may have multiple wireless devices, please only connect one at a time to the network and take a moment to disconnect when you switch to a different device.
2. Don’t set up your own network: When things get slow, it is tempting to use a wifi hub to set up a netowrk. Please avoid the temptation as your mini-network interferes with the larger network.
3. Wait to download and stream: The network is meant for conference-related usage such as checking the online program or chatting on the backchannel. Please resist the urge to download large files or stream movies during conference hours.
Thanks for your help!
Be sure to get one of the special ribbons to let others know that you are a good network neighbor!

Ning Competition

Be sure you have joined the VSTE Ning at http://vsteonline.ning.com and
post about what you are seeing and learning at the Conference. At the
Closing Session on Tuesday, we will draw for the winning contributors.
Each submitted post/blog/comment is one entry. The more you post and
share, the greater your chances!
