QR Code MissionYour mission from the Board of Directors, should you choose to accept it, is to search far and wide across the hills of Hotel Roanoke. The objective: Find the QR Codes printed on yellow signs and table cards. A directive shall be given to you, which (should you accept it, and of course you will), you must complete and e-mail to vste-2011@posterous.com. Please ensure you sign off on these directives with your name, as this mission includes and prize that holds an entire library of books and rhymes with “Bindle”. The more assignments you take on, the more likely it is that you, my dear reader, shall receive that prize. Confused about what to do with a QR Code? No worries, head to http://www.vsteconference.org/qr-codes for more information. But act now without delay. Time is wasting. Sunday Newsletter

Deadlines Fast ApproachingThe deadline for nominations for Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Leader along with Innovative Educators of the Year are due October 15, 2011. This is your chance to nominate yourself or a colleague for their work in the use of educational technology to support teaching and learning. Entries for the Student Technology Integration Challenge must be postmarked by Call for ProposalsThe call for proposals will close in just a few days on September 15th. Whether it be a BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) workshop, a Share Fair Poster, or a concurrent session, the high quality work that our VSTE members present on at the annual conference is one of the greatest things about VSTE. Instead of focusing on technology, we encourage our members to submit proposals that focus on specific content areas including Library Media, Foreign Language, Online Learning, Elementary, Middle, and High School Education, and a host of others. For a full list of content areas including some helpful tips on how to build a great proposal head on over to the Call for Proposals page. And if you’re ready to submit we have a form already prepared for you. We look forward to seeing you in December and hearing about the great things that are happening in your division!
