We will be screening Most Likely to Succeed on Sunday, December 6, at 8 PM in the Washington Lecture Hall. This feature length film examines the impact that innovation is having on our economy and the consequences for our country if our education system fails to keep pace.

The film is included in your conference registration but a separate complimentary registration is required as seating is limited.

This year VSTE will be bringing back the Karaoke you love with a twist, Star Wars costumes! Dress your best for a party that will be out of this world. The party kicks off Monday night, December 7th, at 8PM.

Introducing VSTE’s newest conference initiative! This year the VSTE Conference will be in Roanoke, December 6-8, 2015 and we are reaching out to the local school systems to participate in a “Kids Talk” venue similar to a TED Talk.

Each invited school system will select a team comprised of 1 or 2 teachers and 1-5 students to share something they are doing with technology that they are excited about! The vision is for Kids Talk to be an update of the old Poster Session but the twist is that students will be leading the talk and explaining one way technology is being used in their school to enhance the learning process.

student centered

enhance student learning
differentiate the SOLs

Please consider submitting a proposal for one of the 3 different session types (Concurrent Sessions, Bring Your Own Device Workshops, and Ignite Sessions). The call closes on September 15th and decisions will be made and notifications sent out by October 1st, but don’t wait until the deadline!
