This year VSTE will be partnering with WHRO to help get the word out about participation in the VSTE Conference Kid Talks that were a great success on its initial launch last year in Roanoke. In case you missed our first Kid Talks at the Roanoke VSTE conference last year, the vision is for Kid Talks to be an update of the old Poster Session but with the twist of having students leading the discussion and explaining one way technology is being used in their school to enhance the learning process.  They can do this with posters or bring a laptop/ chromebook/ipad to share their Kid Talks.

This year the “Kid Talks” venue for the 2016 VSTE conference will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.  Teams will be comprised of a teacher and 3-5 students to share something they are doing to integrate technology that they are excited about! Kid Talks take place in an open venue that allows conference participants to browse and interact with the students.  It occurs during a one hour time frame on Sunday.

VSTE will provide a table, electrical and internet connectivity if needed.

Join us Sunday, December 4th, from 1:00 to 3:45 PM as students demonstrate how technology that is

  • creativity
  • student centered
  • easy to implement
  • enhance student learning
  • differentiate the SOLs
